The Mobility Advancement Program (MAP Broward) , a 30-year transportation sales surtax approved by the voters in 2018, has as its 3 Foundational Elements: Transparency, Accountability, Resiliency, and its 5 Main Goals: Create Connectivity, Improve Transit Service, Traffic System Management, Enchance Multimodal Options, Ensure Economic Development and Benefits.
The project-based plan was developed in collaboration with subject matter experts based on national and international best practices and direct input from local municipalities. The MAP Broward dashboard contains about 800 projects in planning, design, and construction phases. It includes county and municipal projects and an array of transportation and mobility initiatives including roadway, transit, multi-modal, bridge, and many more improvements which will promote traffic system management and connectivity. In addition, the interface empowers users to explore surtax investments by project type, municipal boundary, commission district, and within a specific radius of any user-defined location.
